    Molly Dunaway, Miss Sebastian County and Fort Smith native, has been selected as Arkansas' delegate for the Miss Worldwide pageant on July 26, 2025, in Omaha, Nebraska. A single mother of nine and foster mother to over 160 at-risk children, Dunaway is passionate about family empowerment and community service.   • METEOROLOGIST LAURA HUCKABEE RETURNS TO 40/29

    Meteorologist Laura Huckabee returns to KHBS/KHOG, the home of 40/29 News. Huckabee will bring over thirty years of multi-media forecasting experience to 40/29 News Sunrise, the station’s 4:30 – 8:00 a.m. weekday morning newscast. For nearly ten years Huckabee was a member of the EMMY® award winning 40/29 News Sunrise team. Upon her return to 40/29 she will forecast alongside anchors Yuna Lee and Phil Reed each weekday morning. In May 2012 Huckabee and the 40/29 news team reported on the recovery in Joplin, Missouri one year after the city was devastated by an EF5 tornado. Additionally, in the spring of 2014, Huckabee and the 40/29 Get Ready Weather team forecasted and reported when Central Arkansas was hit by an EF4 tornado. “Laura understands weather is the most important element in our morning newscast,” said KHBS/KHOG-TV President and General Manager, Bruce Barkley. “I’m confident from day one viewers will once again enjoy her comfortable delivery and informative local forecasts.” According to 40/29 News Director Colleen Clement, “Laura knows Arkansas weather and the impact it has on viewers.   • $10K Grant Boost for Local Children & Family Advocacy Center

    The Children & Family Advocacy Center (CFAC) has received a $10,000 grant from the O’Reilly Automotive Foundation, Inc., supporting its mission to help women and children impacted by trauma. CFAC offers free, comprehensive services—including advocacy, counseling, and residential programming—ensuring victims of crisis or abuse begin their healing journey under one roof. In 2024, CFAC aided 920 children, providing 751 forensic interviews, 101 medical exams, and over 1,400 counseling sessions. The O’Reilly Foundation praised CFAC's collaborative approach and in-school safety programs, highlighting its commitment to prevention and healing. This grant is part of O'Reilly’s $1 million nationwide donations to 35 nonprofits.
