Dollar Day at the Fair proved once again that a small contribution can make a huge difference. Sponsored by 40/29 and The Arkansas CW, the event took place on Wednesday, September 24, offering fairgoers $1 admission, with every dollar going directly to support the River Valley Regional Food Bank.

This year’s event was made possible with the help of Walmart volunteers, who graciously manned the gates and collected donations throughout the day. Their support helped ensure the event ran smoothly and successfully, amplifying the community’s impact.

And what an impact it was! Attendees donated $3,602, which translates to 36,020 meals for families in need. On top of that, 2,123 pounds of food were collected, providing an additional 2,590 meals. Altogether, Dollar Day generated the equivalent of 38,610 meals for the River Valley Regional Food Bank.

The River Valley Regional Food Bank serves thousands across western Arkansas, where community partnerships and events like this play a crucial role in fighting food insecurity.

Dollar Day at the Fair wasn’t just about rides, games, and funnel cakes, it was about neighbors helping neighbors, and volunteers and sponsors stepping up to make a lasting difference.
