JoElla Skaggs, a lifelong educator and patriot, has been named the Old Fort Days Rodeo 2025 Patriot of the Year. With over 40 years of teaching history, she inspired countless students to embrace the ideals that define America. Her efforts launched Veterans Day Assemblies at Greenwood High School, growing from small gatherings into major annual events with over 1,800 students and 100 veterans, honoring heroes with GHS coins and inspiring patriotism.

Beyond the classroom, JoElla led efforts to restore National Cemetery headstones, showing her dedication to preserving the legacy of those who served. Skaggs’ passion and commitment make her a true patriot and worthy honoree. Congratulations, JoElla!
