The CW Network has unveiled thrilling news for drama fans with the upcoming premiere of “Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent,” an exciting adaptation of the iconic franchise. Scheduled to debut on Wednesday, September 24, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Central, the new series brings the well-loved, high-stakes world of “Law & Order” to Canada’s largest metropolis.
Starring Aden Young (“Rectify”) and Kathleen Munroe (“City on Fire”) as Detective Sergeants Henry Graff and Frankie Bateman, the show’s 10-episode inaugural season will follow the duo as they investigate high-profile homicides. The Specialized Criminal Investigations Unit makes use of psychological and investigative techniques to explore motives and unravel crimes within powerful worlds such as high finance, politics, real estate, media, and more.
The Canadian adaptation initially premiered on Citytv in 2024, becoming the top-rated primetime debut for a drama that year. Enthusiasm for the series continues as the CW announces a two-season commitment, with the second season slated for release in 2026.
Produced by Lark Productions and Cameron Pictures Inc., the series is crafted in association with Universal International Studios and Citytv, a division of Rogers Sports & Media.
The creative legacy of Dick Wolf’s classic franchise remains intact under the leadership of showrunner and executive producer Tassie Cameron. Additional executive producers include Erin Haskett, Amy Cameron, Alex Patrick, David Valleau, and co-executive producer Tex Antonucci. NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution oversees its worldwide distribution.
Mark your calendars for September 24 as “Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent” takes audiences into deeply compelling investigations filled with shocking revelations, intense drama, and the psychological depth fans have come to expect from the “Law & Order” brand.
