Greenwood Jailhouse

Tucked in the heart of Greenwood stands one of the city’s oldest, and perhaps most mysterious, buildings: the Old Sebastian County Jail. Built between 1889 and 1891 by master mason Ike Kunkel, the two-story stone structure once held prisoners waiting to be transported to Fort Smith. Today, it’s the Old Jail Museum, managed by the South Sebastian County Historical Society and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We follow a paranormal group through the Greenwood jailhouse on a ghost hunt.

But for some visitors, the echoes of Greenwood’s past still linger within its thick stone walls.

We joined Jason Walker and Rosy Page from the paranormal group Night Terror Collective as they took their ghost-hunting gear inside the Old Jailhouse after dark on two occasions. Using spirit boxes, flashlights, and a storm brewing outside to boost the energy, the team searched for voices from another time, and may have found more than they expected.
